Are you using the little white one that comes with the machine? I know it had some sticky paper stuff all over it which might interfere with the key presses. Lastly, I cant answer your question about the keyboard as i did not have that problem.

Just go to the Acer website and register your revo's serial number. On a side note you are as a valued Revo customer entitled to a free upgrade to win 7 when it is released in Oct. If you have not already formatted the recovery partition, i would recover the pc and upgrade OR install XP then upgrade.
